When you get the urge, you just gotta go for it...

I don't like to bake or cook very much but when I do cook or bake, I make multiple creations.
Last night I ended up going on a late night run to the store for groceries and was met by a rainstorm, but that's a story for another day. I ended up with more than I had planned on getting, but spent less than I'd planned on (Yay!). And I made the following:

DONUTS (in a frying pan...)

Ingredients
2 cans of refrigerated biscuits (brand doesn't matter, just DON'T get flaky biscuits)
about 1/2 stick of butter
sugar
cinnamon

Yep, that's really all the ingredients that you'll need! Most recipes for donuts on the stovetop will also call for vegetable oil (to actually cook the donuts in) but I found that butter works just fine.

First, put a bit of butter (or vegetable oil) in the frying pan. Then fire up the stovetop. Once the butter is melted, throw on one or two biscuits. Cook each side until it's golden brown and then put the donut aside (I just put my donuts on paper towel on top of a cookie sheet. Keep going until all donuts are cooked.

Then have some melted butter in a bowl (try to get a shallow but wide bowl, so that you can comfortably dip the donut in the butter). After dipping in butter, dip the donut in a bowl that contains a mixture of sugar and cinnamon (just guesstimate amounts for each).

Be sure to do one side of the donut at a time, or the cinnamon and sugar won't have a chance to stick! Or you can just do one side of the donut.

Tater-tot Casserole

Ingredients
16 oz. bag of tater-tots
10 oz. can cream of chicken
1-2 cups shredded cheese
pepper

First, spray the pan if you want. Then pour the entire can of cream of chicken onto the bottom of the pan. Be sure to spread evenly. Throw in all the tater-tots. You'll bake at 375 for about 30 minutes (or until the tater-tots are golden brown). Then top with cheese and put bake in for 7-10 mins. Yum!

So I think I've decided this will just be my fun blog. Crafts, food, random thoughts. Sounds like a plan. I still don't know what the name for it will be...
